Allerton Park in Monticello, Illinois

A few years ago I visited Allerton Park and Retreat Center to look for spring wildflowers.







Huge patches of Blue-eyed Mary were seen.

Prairie trilliums were very abundant.

The past use of prescribed fire is evident by the structure of the forest.
